Background: Colonic polyps are the abnormal growths from colonic mucosa, usually benign but there is a definite though small risk for cancerous transformation. Scarce data about this condition available Northern India. In study we aimed to determine prevalence of in patients undergoing colonoscopy various health indications. addition, studied characteristics these including histological classification Methods: observational cross-sectional included adult (≥18 years) who underwent July 2016 June 2018 at tertiary care hospital setting New Delhi, The socio-demographic variables were ascertained all patients. Data indication colonoscopy, findings on finding regarding (type, number, size, location and type) was collected. Results: We found total 246 have number 369.The median age 56 years (IQR 44-68). Majority with (74.8%) males. Polyps most commonly seen left colon (35.36%). Histologically, common type adenomatous 58.9% (Tubular adenoma 44% tubule-villous 8%). Hyperplastic noted 22% followed by inflammatory 14% polyps. Adenocarcinoma reported 2 (0.8%). Conclusions: Prevalence colorectal our lower compared western countries. On histology majority adenomatous.
